Dexter styling

The cast here are seen wearing very 'normal clothes' they dont have anything in common like a uniform, they all wear regular clothes because they are a part of the FBI so need to be under cover at all times. 

Above are images of the character 'Debra' in the series. This is the character that i want to base my ideas for Claudia and Mrs Laderman around as she is the most relatable. 

Her dress sense is again very normal and on trend, she looks like she cares about her appearance and thinks about the clothing she wears and how she styles them.

Another part i noticed about Debra is that her hair is always on trend and neatly done. She has ombre hair with layering that shapes her face for when she wants to look more put together and when she has days where she doesn't make as much effort she has tousled beach waves. Both of these hair styles are very popular to the modern day female. 

This influenced how i wanted to style my characters (Claudia & Mrs Laderman). I want both of them to dress normally and on trend and i want that to be shown through their make up and hair. Although Claudia is going to look run down it will still be noticeable that she has tried to make an effort with her look. I am going to dress them both in tshirts as i think they are practical and an everyday piece of clothing that a lot of people wear.

For all the Claudia face charts i wanted to create a look where she looked really hollow and tired, which is why i have used a cool tone grey shadow for the contours of her face and neck. However instead of just leaving it at that i wanted to make sure she looked as if before she turned into this person she was a regular girl, so i added mascara which will just open up her eyes and make her look less 'dead' looking.

I added supra colours to the inner part of the lip to create the effect that she has had blood in her mouth and also the splatter effects using an aqua colour. This is the same as the Mrs Laderman splatter effects because obviously they are working together and the blood would splatter over both of them.

The over all look i have gone for with all 3 facecharts in a simple make up look (#1) and then added a bit of a smokier eye for (#2&#3). This shows the way Mrs Laderman changes her looks depending on the person she is trying to lure in and the situation around them. The simple make up look would be good for day time however the smokey eye looks will be better for evenings and going to somewhere where you have to look put together. 

Another way to look at the 'glam' make up is that she is making herself look good to present her 'special delivery' (my chosen word to link with the character) to Claudia as she feels like she needs to impress her.

I have either used what looks like splatters of blood on the face or what looks like finger drag marks. This is because she watches over Claudia when she tortures the victims and the blood hits her face and the victims try to grab her because they think she is a normal person who can help them when in actual fact she is in on the whole thing.

Hair charts for Mrs Laderman

Mrs Laderman #1 hair chart:

-       - Natural wave

-       - Natural hair

-       - Side parting

This is Mrs Laderman’s most simple hair style. It is just natural hair, I would achieve this by waving the hair slightly by using a curling tong. She is seen as a motherly figure and whenever I think of a mum I always think of how she never really has time to do hair or make up, she just brushes her hair and puts on whatever is easiest because she has so much else to be doing. This is what I was trying to go for with this hair style as she needs to be seen as ‘normal’ so that she can lure victims into Claudias home.

Mrs Laderman #2 hair chart:

-       - Natural wavy hair

-       - Side parting

-       - Clipped off the face

I wanted to keep the second hairstyle similar to the first in the sense that it is a ‘natural hair’ look, again as if she has just got out of bed and brushed it. However, this time I wanted to add a side where her hair has been pinned back so it is off her face. This is so it is similar and relatable to Claudias hairstyle that is pinned back. Her hair is then off her face and it easier for her to do what she needs to do with the victims to help Claudia. It also can be seen as Claudia is looking up to Mrs Laderman as the ‘motherly figure’ she is and copies her hairstyles or does something similar so that she can seem like she relates to her a bit more.

Mrs Laderman #3 hair chart:

-       - Throw up ponytail

-       - Few wispy hairs out of the front

This hairstyle is one she has after she has managed to lure in victims. I want the hairstyle to look like she has been rushed and hasn’t had much time to do anything with her hair but again needs to get it out of her face to help Claudia, so she just chucks it up into a ponytail. Because it is rushed it is slightly off to one side, it is messy and there are stray hairs around her face.
